Learn More About Alpha Pawn & Jewelry

Have a pawn-related question? We have the answer! Check out these FAQs to learn more about Alpha Pawn & Jewelry.
  • What’s a pawn loan?

A pawn loan is another name for a collateral loan. This is when money is lent in exchange for items of value, with the loan amount based on that item’s value. The item is returned when the loan is paid-off or can be surrendered as payment in full. For more information, reach out to our pawn shop today.

  • How long do I have to pay a loan?

It’s a 90-day term with no payments for 90 days at 37% interest. At the end of the 90 days, if you don’t have the principal, you can pay the interest and roll it over for another 90 days! If you have further questions about this, don't hesitate to give our pawn shop a call today.

  • Is my collateral safe while in pawn?

While your item is in pawn, you still own it. It is our responsibility as a pawn shop to keep it safe and in good condition while it’s in our care. When you give us an item for a pawn, we keep all accessories — remote controls, cables, etc. — with your item and place it in a secure area. Your item is safely stored until you return to pay your pawn loan in full and reclaim it. Alpha Pawn & Jewelry is fully insured for the loan value of the collateral we keep.

  • What do I need to secure a loan?

In order to secure a pawn loan, all you need to bring to our pawn ship is valid identification and an item of value. There are no credit checks, bank account details, pay stubs, or co-signers required.

  • How is the value of my loan determined?

A pawn shop determines the amount they are willing to lend for a given item by taking into account a host of factors. These factors can include the condition of your item, its current market value, the cost of storing the item, and its potential for resale. Remember that the shop isn’t purchasing your item, but merely loaning money based on a percentage of its value.

  • Are pawn shops safe?

Absolutely! According to Pawnbrokernetwork.com, there are more than 10,000 pawn shops in the U.S. today. Contrary to what many may think, the overwhelming majority of these pawn shops offer their customers a clean, friendly environment in which to do business.
